Bradford AF - Part 3

Next port of call was The Fighting Cock. A traditional ale house in a largely industrial area of town, you only go if you want to go.

But first, an unscheduled stop at the Rose & Crown on the way.

A Bradford City supporter pub, in full swing after the match with A Flock of Seagulls blasting out the system.

The low/no trend doesn’t reach this far into old school boozers, as the barman wasn’t sure what they had and needed to root in the back of the fridge for two peroni zero.

But only £3.60 for the pair, I wasn’t complaining.

As Mike chatted to some old boys he was hoping to see, I enjoyed people watching whilst the Stranglers provided the soundtrack.

We left the rose as the 4pm karaoke was just starting, I’ve been informed the last game of the season ‘one step beyond’ is an entertaining watch.

Another limited alcohol free choice in the Fighting Cock provided the much common Erdinger… the only time a wheat beer can be drank from the bottle!

Clientele was steady, obviously a few regulars and more post match drinkers. I’m starting to wonder how dead these pubs would be without the football?
